Our goal is to help you make smart energy choices.
Energy One savings offers both Fixed and Variable Rate Plans to fit your energy needs. Much like choosing a mortgage for your home, a decision on the best plan depends on the level of price fluctuation you’re comfortable with.
If you more comfortable with a set price and like knowing your monthly rate in advance, a fixed rate (something utilities don’t offer) is probably the best bet for you. However, if you prefer a plan with price fluctuations, having a variable rate may be more attractive for you.
Variable Rate Plan: ESCO’s purchase their energy at the best price available. However, energy prices fluctuate with market conditions—due to national disasters, geopolitical events, basic supply and demand—and costs have also increased to historically high points in the past few years. With a Variable Rate Plan, your cost for energy reflects the changing prices that we encounter each month. When rates are low, we pass on our savings to you, so that you pay less for each unit of energy you use. Conversely, when rates are higher, you pay a little more.
Fixed Rate Plan: As an alternative to weathering the up and down nature of energy rates, you can choose a Fixed Rate Plan, guaranteeing you a fixed predetermined rate each month. When you lock in, your cost per unit of energy stays the same each month — regardless of the market rate, so that you can better plan and control your energy costs. We offer 1-, 2- and 3-year Fixed Rate Plans (availability varies by market). Given the likelihood of rates continuing to rise over time, the longer you lock yourself in for, the greater your savings!

Other factors related to your bill
Bill estimation: Utility Companies may estimate a customer's energy usage if and when they are unable to read the meter or the reading looks incorrect. If yor bill is estimated, it may not reflect what you actually consumed. In due course, accurate readings are taken and adjustments are then made on future bils.
Seasonal Rates: In times temperatures during the summer and winter, more energy than usual is consumed with increased usage of air conditioning or heating. This increased demand can increase the market price; subsequntly can increase the price you pay per KWh or therms with a variable rate plan. As one of the core membership benefits, customers with Fixed Rate Plans will not have any change in the unit costs of their energy
